A Platform of Collaboration

Gun Violence Prevention

By fostering partnerships and engaging directly with residents, we can develop and implement tailored violence prevention initiatives that meet the unique needs of our communities. These efforts will include providing support and resources to at-risk individuals, promoting alternatives to violence, and investing in programs that address underlying social determinants such as poverty, trauma, and lack of access to mental health services.

Advancing Technological Innovation in the Sheriff's Office

By harnessing the power of technology, we can also enhance our ability to engage with the community, provide timely updates on law enforcement activities, and disseminate critical information during emergencies or public safety incidents. Whether it's sharing crime prevention tips, notifying residents of road closures, or providing updates on ongoing investigations, accessible communication channels enable us to foster transparency, build trust, and empower residents to play an active role in keeping our communities safe.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Beyond recruitment and retention, I recognize the critical importance of addressing disparities in policing practices. I will work tirelessly to identify and dismantle systemic biases that may exist within our Sheriff's Office, implementing policies and training programs that promote fair and impartial policing. This includes implicit bias training for all officers, as well as regular evaluations of departmental practices to ensure compliance with equitable standards.

Community Engagement, Empowerment, and Safety

Prioritizing and strengthening partnerships with local agencies, community organizations, and stakeholders will enhance public safety and address shared challenges collaboratively. Through cross-sector collaboration, we can develop comprehensive strategies to address systemic issues such as substance abuse, mental health crises, and homelessness.

Elevating Training and Professional Standards

Prioritizing ongoing professional development will ensure that our Deputies remain at the forefront of best practices and are prepared to address evolving challenges. This includes providing opportunities for advanced training, continuing education, and specialized certifications to hone their skills and adapt to changing circumstances effectively.
